Restricted Items

In accordance with the General Conditions of Carriage and the IATA DANGEROUS GOODS REGULATIONS, the following items are absolutely forbidden for carriage as checked or unchecked baggage both by passenger and crew since these articles are dangerous to flight safety:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note7
  • ​Compressed gasses (flammable, non-flammable and poisonous) such as aerosols, camping gas.
  • Explosives, ammunitions, fireworks and flares (except sporting firearms which doesn’t exceed 5kg of ammunitions per passenger and a max of 2 rifles).
  • Ethologic agents (chemical reagent).
  • Flammable liquid and solids such as (lighter, matches, paints, thinner).
  • Corrosives ( such as acids , alkalis, wet cell batteries … etc )
  • Irritants
  • Knives, daggers, swords...Etc
  • Oxidizing material (bleaching powder...etc)
  • Radioactive material
  • Miscellaneous hazardous goods (such as mercury, noxious materials, magnetized materials or offensive material)
  • Briefcases with installed alarm devices or that are lithium battery operated.
  • According to the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) – SAFO (Safety Alert For Operators) its recommended that the e-cigarettes and related devices must be carried in the carry bags not in checked baggage.
  • Recreational Mobility Devices such as self-balancing hover boards are PROHIBITED on board Egyptair flights as checked or carry on baggage.​

Power banks:

In an ongoing effort to enhance onboard safety, EGYPTAIR has updated its policy regarding the use and transport of portable power banks. While passengers are still allowed to bring a power bank in their carry-on baggage, the use of power banks during the flight is now strictly prohibited. This means you cannot use them to charge personal devices or connect them to the aircraft’s power supply at any time during the flight.

Two power banks per passenger are permitted with Capacity under 100 Watt-hours (Wh) each.
No in-flight use is allowed; charging devices using a power bank while onboard is strictly prohibited.
Checked luggage restriction: Power banks are not allowed in checked baggage under any circumstances.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to declare any power banks to EGYPTAIR staff during check-in to ensure all safety requirements are met. These updated rules reflect EGYPTAIR’s continued commitment to managing the risks associated with lithium battery-powered devices and maintaining the highest safety standards onboard.
Please review and comply with these guidelines before your travel date.

-For customers traveling to or from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, it is prohibited to carry the following medicine (such as Tramadol, and the lebraks and Rovamesan) which are included in the list of drugs, so as to avoid the arrest and deportation of their respective holders. 

For customers traveling to or from France, it is prohibited to carry the following items:

-All meat products
-All milk products
-All other animal products (e.g Fish)
-Eggs
-Fruits & vegetables
-Seeds
-Plants
