Sports Equipment

​​​ If you are carrying sports equipment’s, Egypt Air has specific allowances and rules Listed below.

Ammunition

  • Can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance.
  • Allowed from International to International only on Egyptair flights (operated by Ms).

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • Maximum 5 kilogram per passenger.
  • Must be packed in a strong container made of wood, metal or fiberboard, protected against shock.
  • Must be packed separately from firearm.
  • Declaration form required.
  • Hold Loaded only.
  • Any excess of 5 kilogram must be shipped as cargo.
N.B: The charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance.

Archery equipment’s

It Can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • Maximum 23 kilograms.
  • Adequate packaging recommended.
N.B: The charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance.

Bike

It can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • One suitably packed bicycle(single seat).
  • Rotate the handle bar 90 degrees and tighten it in this position.
  • The bikes shall be packed in a Carton box or in a special plastic box to protect them from damage.
  • The pedals shall also be removed.
  • The tires must be partially deflated.
  • The maximum total weight 32 Kg, The maximum total dimensions 250 Cm (140 length + 28 width+82 height)
    •If the bike is packed in a container more than 23 Kg, it will be subject to standard service charge for overweight bags
    •If the bike is packed in a container more than 220 Cm linear (110 length + 28 width + 82 height), it will be subject to standard service charge for oversize bags.





N.B: It will be subject to excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance. and the charg​e shall be equal to 100% of the applicable excess baggage charge.

Firearm/ Laser Gun

Can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance. Through check in is Allowed from International to International only on Egyptair flights (operated by ms ) .

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • It must be suitably packed in a strong rigid container made of wood, metal or fiber.
  • Firearms must be unloaded and enclosed in cover. *Sports firearms: 1 case containing 2 rifles, 5 kilogram of Ammunition, 1 shooting mat/ noise suppresser and small rifle tool or 2 shooting guns and 2 shooting gun cases or 1 pistol case containing not more than 5 pistols, 5 kilogram of ammunition, noise suppressor, 1 pistol telescope, small pistol tools.
  • Cartridges must be securely boxed in quantity not exceeding 5 kilogram per passenger.
  • Country acceptance requirements shall apply.
  • Hold loaded only.
  • Declaration form required.
  • Weapons (Firearms) escorting fees From/To Geneva : 250.00 CHF + 8% TVA ( TOTAL 270.00 CHF) per escort.
N.B:​ I​t will be subject to excess baggage charge if overweight, and the charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance.

Fishing equipment

It can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • Maximum 23 kilogram, must be properly packed.
  • Must be checked into the hold.
  • No live bait carried.
N.B: It will be subject to excess baggage charge if overweight , and the charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance.

Golf equipment’s

Egyptair accepts one item of golf equipment’s per customer as checked baggage. Within the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • One golf bag including one pair of golf shoes, balls and umbrella.
  • Maximum 23 kilogram
  • Should be enclosed with a cover to prevent loss of contents.

N.B: ​The charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance.

Kite / Kite Board

  • Can be carried as checked baggage.
  • Not included in the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • Maximum 32 kilogram-2 Meters
  • Must be properly packed for transportation.
N.B: The charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge.

Scuba equipment’s

Can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • Maximum 23 kilogram.
  • Scuba tanks must be empty to be inspected at check in.
  • Gear must be suitably packed in a rigid or hard shell container.
N.B: It will be subject to excess baggage charge if overweight, and the charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance.

Snow / water skiing equipment’s

It can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • Maximum 23 kilogram.
  • Must be packed in a rigid or soft shell container.
  • 1 set contains 1skis, boots, poles or snow boards, boots or water skis.  .
N.B: It will be subject to excess baggage charge if overweight , and the charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance .

Packing and condition of carriage:

The passenger must provide acceptable packaging for the ski equipment such as fiberglass or cloth bag to protect the ski equipment & to prevent damage to other bags.

Small surfboard / paddleboard / Wakeboard less than 2m

  • Can be carried as checked baggage.
  • Not included in the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • less than 2 meters and maximum 32 kilogram.
  • When packing a surfboard, keels or kedges must be removed or crated in such a manner so as to prevent damage to other baggage and the customer must sign a limited release bag tag.
  • Must be suitably packed in rigid or soft shell container specially designed for shipping.
N.B: It will be subject to excess baggage charge if overweight, and the charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge.

Film Equipment’s

Can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • Weight per piece as per booked class.
  • Suitable packing in metal or rigid boxes.
  • May require further manual screening by security
N.B: It will be subject to excess baggage charge if overweight, and the charge shall be equal to 100% of the applicable excess baggage charge.

Oars

Can be carried as checked baggage within the free baggage allowance.

Packing and condition of carriage:

  • Maximum 23 kilogram and must be less than 2 meters long or foldable.
  • 1 pair of oars or one oar case contain up to 2 oars per customer.
N.B: It will be subject to excess baggage charge if overweight, and the charge shall be equal to 50% of the applicable excess baggage charge if the piece is over the free baggage allowance.
 
N.B:​If your booking includes codeshare flights, your baggage allowance may differ from the Egyptair allowances above.
