SERVICE ANIMALS (GUIDING DOGS) – SVAN
• Service animals (might be harnessed) are accepted in the passenger cabin, not occupying a seat, and should be seated at customer’s feet, subject to prior arrangements being made with EGYPTAIR AIRLINES by customer and they are exempted from any weight limitation, container requirements and accepted free of charge
• Customers traveling with service animals are required to provide the related documents and obtain a booking confirmation/approval at least 48 hours before departure.
EGYPTAIR accepts dogs only as service animals for carriage on its flights according to the following rules:
1) Service animal (SVAN) to all EGYPTAIR network (except USA & Canada):
2) Service animal (SVAN) to Canada
3) Service animal (SVAN) to USA
SERVICE ANIMALS ARE ACCEPTED ON EGYPTAIR FLIGHTS UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1- The country travel information must be checked before your flight to determine the followings:
a. If the service animal is acceptable or not.
b. The documents required by countries of entry or transit.
c. The age of the service animal, as the age shall remain subject to custom regulations at the country of transit and destination
2- Holding a valid health and vaccination certificates, and/or entry permits if required:
3- The SVAN must be obedient and behave properly in public places.
4- Seating is preferably beside a window seat at the back area.
5- The SVAN should fit on the floor space in front of customer seat and not into aisle.
6- Customer travelling with SVAN is forbidden to be seated in the exit rows
7- The dog might be leashed or harnessed.
8- The Customer may hold a fleece or vet-bed for the dog to lie on and also absorbent pads which can be placed under the fleece.
9- It is highly recommended that the customer should hold empty cage for his service animal and will be accepted free of charge during the check-in procedures.
10- If the service animal is too big to fit in the passenger cabin or being disruptive, then they must be caged and accepted in the aircraft hold as checked baggage free of charge, otherwise the customer will be offloaded.
Note: The above mentioned rules are applied only for flights operated by EGYPTAIR and incase of Code-Share flights operated by other carrier, the customer must refer to the operating carrier to obtain their approval.
1) Service animal (SVAN) to all EGYPTAIR network (EXCEPT USA & CANADA):
Only Seeing-eye and hearing-ear dogs are acceptable as service animals trained to assist customers with visual impaired or hearing disabilities.
SVAN will be accepted free of charge and exempted from any weight limitation or container/cages requirements.
If the SVAN is disruptive, too big or acts in a hostile behavior then it must be caged and accepted as checked baggage free of charge, otherwise the customer will be offloaded.
Holding a license or proof of animal is trained as service animal.
Holding valid health and vaccination certificates, and/or entry permits if required.
Pit Bull breeds are not permitted as SVAN
Only one service dog is acceptable per customer.
2)Service animal (SVAN) TO CANADA:
Service dogs perform a variety of tasks to provide support in activities of daily living for a wide range of disabilities, including guiding persons who are blind; alerting persons who have hearing impairments to the presence of people or sounds, such as an alarm or telephone; pulling a wheelchair; recognizing specific changes that happen before a seizure and alerting a person; and providing assistance to a person with posttraumatic stress disorder by providing a barrier against other people crowding too close to the person
SVAN will be accepted free of charge and exempted from any weight limitation or container/cages requirements on flights to/from Canada and also on connecting flights with final destination /origin Canada according to the ATPDR rules.
If the SVAN is disruptive, too big or acts in a hostile behavior then it must be caged and accepted as checked baggage free of charge, otherwise the customer will be offloaded.

3) Service animal (SVAN )TO USA:
A service animal is as a dog, regardless of breed or type, that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a qualified individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability.
Psychiatric service animals will be treated the same as other service animals that are individually trained to do work or preform a task for the benefit of a qualified individual with a disability.
Permitted on flights from/to USA and also on connecting flights with final destination / origin USA, in accordance with US D.O.T regulations.
SVAN will be accepted free of charge and exempted from any weight limitation or container/cages requirements
Passengers require to remit a completed hardcopy or electronic version of the Department’s “U.S. Department of Transportation Service Animal Air Transportation Form”
The customer must hold a completed hardcopy or electronic version from the following forms as a condition of transportation:

U.S Department of Transportation Service Animal Air Transportation
Formb)
U.S Department of transportation Service Animal Relief Attestation
Form
The customer should print two copies from each form, one will remain with the customer and the second copy will remain with the counter agent or with the gate agent.
Holding valid health and vaccination certificates, and/or entry permits if required.
Approved of center of dieses control “CDC” must be applied online 10 business days prior to arrival; or written (or oral) statement that the dog has not been living in a high-risk canine rabies country for the past 6 months or since birth.
Airlines may require a passenger with a disability seeking to travel with a service animal to provide the service animal form(s) at the passenger’s departure gate on the date of travel.
Only two service dogs are acceptable per customer.
