Baggage Allowance

​​​​​​​​​​​​For your safety and comfort, we have provided baggage allowances for each class of service. Passengers with checked baggage exceeding the allowance stated below will be charged for excess baggage. (Please contact your local EGYPTAIR office for details on excess baggage charges)

Note: some promotional fares tickets on international flights are entitled for Only 01 piece with total 23 Kgs  ,in-addition to 01 Hand Luggage with total weight 08 Kgs. ( for more details please refer to EGYPTAIR sales office or our call center )

Baggage Weight Limitations:

Please note that your checked baggage cannot exceed 32 kilogram per piece. This is in accordance with the local occupational safety rules. Passengers are required to re-pack their baggage if the baggage weight exceeds the limitation per piece as the baggage over 32 kilogram will not be accepted and must be shipped separately as freight or cargo.


The allowed size of check-in baggage at KKIA (King Khaled International Airport).

NB: Regarding airport policy in handling oversized and overweighed;Please be informed that due to limited size of security X-Ray machines that are installed and integrated with the baggage belt systems at TR1,TR2,and TR3,KIKA Management reconfirmed that allowable size and weight shall not exceed (92x61x76cm) and 32 Kilograms each respectively. Exempted from the rule are golf bags, golf sticks, live animals, wheel chairs, baby trolleys​.


N.B. Carry-on policy applies:

  • Except where restricted by government regulation.
  • For certain flights operated by small-size aircraft , restriction may apply.
  • For flights to/from/within U.S.,only (1) carry-on and a personal item are allowed , due to government regulations.
  • In Certain cases we may ask First and Business class customers to Check-in their second piece of hand bag:
  • (1) If traveling to countries with restrictive government regulation.(ex.to/from or within U.S.A)
  • (2)  If the flight is operated by small aircrafts,(ex.E170 aircraft)
Baggage with higher value declaration for the country of Spain.
When a passenger presents luggage for which they wish to make a declaration of special value at check-in, the regulations set out below will apply:

Arrival Time:

Passengers must arrive at check-in with sufficient time to allow for the following:
  • Opening of luggage of special value
  • Signature of the excess luggage ticket document
  • Verification of the existence of the objects to be covered by the declaration
  • Locking of the luggage

Declaration Restrictions

Luggage Valuation:
  • Its valuation must exceed 1,000 special drawing rights (approximate equivalent of 1,200 euros).
  • Declaration values may not exceed US$5,000 (or the equivalent thereof) per passenger.

Charges

A fee of 0.5% of the value declared by passengers will be applied and an excess luggage ticket will have to be issued.

Through Check in

Baggage through Check in is not allowed from international overseas stations to Cairo via domestic Stations in Egypt and Vice Versa

Carriage in Conjunction with Other Companies

Luggage of declared value will not be accepted for transport on other companies' airlines, unless they consent thereto.

Code Share Flights

As EGYPTAIR has partnerships with other airlines to offer you more destinations worldwide, and even if you've booked direct with EGYPTAIR, one or more of your flights may be operated by another airline.

NB: If your booking includes flights Codeshare flights, your baggage allowance may differ from the EGYPTAIR allowances above

For Code Share Flights on UNITED AIRLINES

UNITED AIRLINES allows 1 piece of cabin baggage and 1 personal item for all first, business and economy classes with a maximum dimension per piece of 19 x 31 x 53. This also applies to infants not occupying a seat.
